Adrian didn't come up the easy way. When jiu-jitsu was barely available outside of LA or San Diego, he was learning techniques from photographs in magazines and figuring the rest out on the mat. When his instructor left and handed him the class, he wasn't ready — but he showed up anyway. He's been showing up ever since.
He teaches because he understands what it means to start with nothing and build something real. The kids on his mat today don't know where the armbar came from. They just know Coach Adrian taught them. That's enough for him.
